Lead Python Engineer (Remote, Onshore)

Preferable Location: Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, New York   |   Full Time

One of our clients is looking to expand its permanent team with a Lead Software Engineer well-versed in Python and Django. They have developed a global payments platform that enables mobile phone users to pay their service provider bills by playing games, watching videos, and completing special offers on their devices. It’s a fun and rewarding alternative for making payments. The payments alternative combines mobile monetization and gamification.

Based in South Florida, the company has operations across the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, and Singapore. The position is available in Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, and New York City, and will be mostly remote with one on-site day a week at least for the next 6 months.

We are looking for:

  • Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with the Python Django Framework and PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Experience working with and supporting systems using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL and the Python Django Framework.
  • Cloud environment (AWS experience preferred).
  • Ability to develop well-engineered solutions to challenging problems.
  • Lead and participate in design sessions and discussions, including architectural recommendations, best practices mentoring coding standards enforcement, and design pattern modeling.
  • Work closely with and incorporate feedback from product management and design teams.
  • Work to ensure that implementation details translate through to shipping products.
  • Interface with developer communities to absorb the latest trends and emerging technologies.
  • Work closely with the Product, UX/UI, and mobile teams to design, build and extend consumer and/or partner facing new products and features.
  • Build reusable software components for the platform.
  • Monitor the performance of the live apps and continuously improve them on both the code and experience level.
  • Use the agile process to get things done and document what you are working on along the way.
  • Help to research and influence our path forward with strategic technology initiatives.
